Don't worry the books I read are AMA backed, and wiki is just a quick point of reference.

Its the original poster here. I know well enough about what I'm doing and have done what I can to dial back the challenge I set before my body, and the idea of potentiation with grapefruit juice to prevent the body making enzyme cytochrome P450 isoform CYP3A4 the benadryl helps with the process of potentiation and helps with my allergies. Also the benadryl helps to prevent any kind of adverse histamine reaction that may be uncomfortable. I didn't just do this so lightheartedly as you might think, and considering studying this kind of stuff is what I want to do with my life I'll know if something is wrong. Not to mention the full medical exams I get regularly(than god for insurance). Now the particular type of pain that I experience is something more along the lines of neuropathic so its not exactly what you're thinking here. I don't like opiates, they don't do anything for me other than make me feel and act stupid, and I know already the meds they would give me for the type of pain I have would completely destroy my liver. I do digress, the grapefruit juice just allows more of the medication to pass the blood-brain barrier by taking away some of the body's ability to break it down and destroy it fully. If I wanted I'm sure I could figure out how to extract the exact enzyme blocking chemical in grapefruit juice but that would be dangerous. Now I'm not doing this every day, and in fact it would seem the longer I keep with this the less I need to do it. So what ever it is doing it would seem its fixing something in my nervous system, and as far as I'm concerned that's better than living in constant pain or being constantly doped up. Quality of life is what is important to me, because I know the difference between living and just being alive. If you are just struggling along then you aren't living, and if you live in such crippling pain that you can't barely get around then that sure as hell isn't living. Again it is quality of life; if I'm in a constant fog then that isn't living either. I'm living now and loving it, and I have nothing more to say about that. To put your worries to bed though its been 7 months and I do this half as often as I used to(twice a month or less) and I have none of the problems that I used to. My legs seem to respond to me fully, it doesn't feel as though there are burning needles in random parts of my body at random times, and now I can exorcise regularly. If anything I've become much MUCH more healthy. I've lost about 50lbs, my whole body feels better(minus the being sore from running lol), and all in all I'm in a much better state. Besides idiots abuse this combo all the time to much higher extents and while it is true that different people react differently there is this little thing called threshold dosing, which anyone should do if they are to try anything like this. This IS NOT for everyone, but I had just about given up so any hope was better than none. I simply refuse to rely on opiates and since NSAIDs don't work on me either this was all there was. I meditate as well and for some reason that seems to help, but as I said I'm slowly starting to not need this anymore. I can say with full confidence that this would not have happened with conventional treatment, and I know this because I know other people who've been struggling with things of this exact nature their entire lives. So rest assured I've read every research paper from every archive I could find, and this seemed safe enough. Again rest assured it would seem I won't need this much longer anyways.

I noticed gabapentin was just put on the concern list...which sounds like one of the drigs they would put you on.
