[TRIGGER] I deal with chronic pain or fibromylagia. My whole body hurts, joints from top down, my back when I get feverish feeling is so sore it's hard to stand up straight. I'm just miserable and really don't know what kind of dr. to go to to help me, they don't believe me, I'm 48 years old and their are days when I think if it gets any worse without getting some kind of relief or help from a specialists, my last resort will to committ suicide. I really need inpatient pain treatment to figure out what I'm dealing with. Pain meds work but I can't get them over-the-counter stuff doesn't cut it.

Good luck with in patient pain treatment, it probably is not going to happen any time soon.

I really suggest finding a good pcp, and sticking with him/her until he/she figures out what is wrong with you. I wouldn't bother with specialists until you KNOW what kind to go to and why you are seeing him. This has worked well for me, can't hurt you anyway.

If you feel like killing or hurting yourself, please call the appropriate hotlines.

Take care, Annette

Hi Spt1063,

Hurting yourself is never the answer. You need to reach out for help and keep trying until you do feel better. Please keep these Crisis Assistant Numbers close to you should you feel the need to use them. Again, reach out for your doc, share all your symptoms and concerns.
I hope you check in with us again soon.

Hi Spt and welcome to WebMD,

I hope that the other responses have been helpful to you. Along with getting a good doctor and reaching out for help when you're in crisis, I REALLY encourage you to look into regular therapy to help you cope with all of this.

Chronic pain can be overwhelming on so many levels and it's okay to need real support to help you deal with it.

I also hope you'll post on our Fibromyalgia Community ; many there have felt as you do now and can offer you a lot of support and insight.
We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.
