Has anyone else suffered with terrible neck pain caused from arthritis?

Mine starts out about a 2 in the morning and gradually increases to about an 8 at night. Sitting can make it worse, which is a conundrom because my fibro makes it where I have to pace myself and rest frequently throughout the day. the pain radiates down into my upper back, and shoulder, and is much worse on the right side.

Ahhhh if we could only turn back time to the good ole days when we took our wonderfully good health and vitality for granted!
Even so I try to look for the good in life; which to me is "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." Romans 8:28

I do take Norco which helps about 40-50 %.. and I am very grateful for that, the pain was wearing me out and affecting every aspect of my life.

I used to get a severe pain in my little finger. Doctors could not tell me the cause. One day when it was happening I moved my neck and the pain went away, which made me realize the pain was coming from my neck. I started doing neck stretches and have had little neck problems since, even though I've had neck x-rays and had people become excited about the bad shape my neck was in. To do the stretch: slowly move your head until you are looking over your left shoulder and hold for 20 to 30 seconds. Then do turn your head so you are looking over your right shoulder and hold for 20 to 30 seconds. Then slowly lower your head until your chin almost touches your breast bone and hold for 20 to 30 seconds. Then raise your head and look skyward and hold for 20 to 30 seconds If this causes you pain I would not do it until I consulted a doctor.

Thanks for the reply. I did go the physical therapy route, and have tried exercises similar to the ones you described, but it did nothing to alleviate the pain. I will ask for an MRI asap.

Blessings, Debbie
