Neck pain. Help?

I'm not sure I'm in the right place. I am new to this site so please be kind.

Almost a year ago I fell on an old box spring and hurt my neck pretty bad.[br>Two weeks later, after persistent pain in the back of my neck, I went to an Urgent Care, and I was told I have obtained a muscle strain. I was given medication, and was told to do some neck rolls in the shower and it should be healed in no time.[br>So I did take the advice, and after that day my neck still has been in pain since. I feel like it has only worsened, and at some points it is almost debilitating.[br>Whenever I look up, I feel extremely light headed, and all of the pressure goes right to my neck.[br>My neck is also warm and tender to the touch. I cannot even have myself or anyone else do my hair because I can feel my neck being pulled on and it brings so much anxiety and panic. I was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder when I was nine.[br>I do have good posture. My back is 'as straight as an arrow'.[br>[br>What could it be and what should I do? I'm really sick of this pain and I know it sounds far fetched, but I'm telling the truth.

What does your doctor say? Have to discussed it with him after the urgent care visit?

I assume the PTSD was treated, have you fully recovered?

Take care, Annette

My doctor previously said the same thing, but I have two switch to a new one because of my insurance. I'm going to get another opinion on it as soon as I can.

And the PTSD was treated. I am much better than I was back then but I still get a ton of anxiety and panic episodes.

Thank you for answering. I was just about to lose some hope on this site.

I would just see the new doctor and ask your questions and present your symptoms to him.

I am glad your PTSD is somewhat better, but I would continue with treatment as that can affect pain perception. My son has PTSD from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, it does get better.

I used cognitive behavioral therapy and found it very helpful, have you tried that for the anxiety and panic attacks?

Please do not lose hope on this site. There are a lot of good folks here. I only post 2-3 times a week, and weekends are usually slow. Be patient and watch for replies, and read other posts that may be related to your experiences.

Take care, Annette
