Hi so I'm not exactly sure what is wrong with me i need help, I am 20, my issues started when i was 17 and they keep progressing. about 3 years ago i noticed that when i went from walking to running i fell, or when i went to walk up stairs i fell to almost as if my legs completly froze and i could not use them. now 3 years later thing progressed alot, every time i co to stand up my legs stiffin up and i cant function them properly, when i walk up steps its hard bc my legs go stiff, i run bc i fall, and also my hands crimp up, if i got to grab something, or like staple a piece of paper and then let go of it, i can let go right away like my hands a froze for a second, my neck/head, if i go to turn it a certain wait it takes me a second to get it back. all of this happens all day every day, and i do not know what to do, my reflexes are in and out, i have seen a nerologist, he is stumpted he keeps putting me on meds and 3 times now i have ended up in the hospital for high blood pressure and heart rate, last week on a new pill i almost had a border line heart attack. he did a nerve conduction test, i gues my nerves are ok, but when i put a needle in my muscle and shoked it and moved it around all he said was hmmmmmmm not good, and he sent my test off to washington U to get an answer, im not in a lot of pain when this happens, but it is very uncomfortable, and im not happy about it all, its making my life stressfullm, any ideals?

Who knows, not me. I wish I had great answers for you. But the University of Washington has a great reputation, and having your tests seen there is a huge plus. Can you get in to see a neurologist there? Even as a consult, it would be good to have a new set of eyes.

I saw a neurologist once at UC-SF Medical Center, I lived in Reno at the time. He was great, he went over all my films, etc. did a physical exam and wrote a report for my family doc back in Reno. He didn't find anything new, but it was very reassuring to have my diagnosis verified, and my treatment plan considered as being a good one.

Thank you, Grace, for pointing out this post.

Take care, Annette
