Pain on joints: Knees and wrist

Hello everyone,

I recently started to exercise again to achieve a leaner body and they were very intense work outs (a mixture of cardio by using my own body weight).
I'm normally not active at all besides some occasional tennis or other exercises here and there.

This one day, I was doing my leg exercises. Jumping squats, squats, jumping lunges, ski hops, etc etc.
After that, both my knees started to hurt when I'm active (doesn't hurt when I'm sitting or resting). It has been about 5 days now.
Whenever I apply pressure to my knee it feels sore and painful (going up the stairs, slight jumps/hops, ...) When I dig into my upper knee cap (between the quads and the knee) I can feel the slight pain, too.

As for my wrist, my right wrist started hurting after doing many pushups and any bending over exercises.

The reason why I'm injured is probably because my form & posture wasn't perfect when I was doing my hectic exercises and with time, I was using my joints to support myself...

What I'm asking is, what can I do to relieve my joint pains? What supplements can I take to hasten to healing process?

Additional info: Not overweight and I don't have health insurance.

Thanks!

Do a search on your favorite search engine for free/low cost clinics in your area. See a doctor about your knee pain, and about a realistic exercise regimen.

Most of your exercises sound pretty high impact to me. It seems like it might be better to start out with less intensity and work your way up slowly, especially since you are normally not very active. You did not mention your age...? You only have the two knees and you really need to keep both of them healthy.

Take care, Annette
