Hi,

My son has complained of shoulder pain off and on for several months. It comes and goes. It is deep and aches for a day or so at a time. He will go for periods and forget about it but I think it is still there during the window of time....just more intense sometimes. This morning is one of these periods, but the pain seems more intense and he is now complaining of similar pain in the elbow of the same arm. Does this sound like growing pains? He is very tall and thin. He is also double jointed and extremely flexible. I have been trying to get him to do gentle stretches like cat pose from yoga. It does seem to help sometimes. I gave him ibu just in case it it muscular pain, but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I hate to see my kid in pain. Mom of three boys.

It is tough to see your kid in pain. What does his pediatrician say? It could be relative to how he is sleeping. It could be relative to his posture. My point, it's tough to get a diagnosis on the Internet-been there, tried that. His doc is best suited to handle it. I hope he can get in soon. Btw, if the doc can't figure it out, he's capable of referring your son to someone who can. Best of luck, let us know what his doctor thinks. -B

So, have you taken him to the doctor, orthopedic? He needs an MRI done....

Take him to the doctor...
