Physicians who prescribe Methadone in Los Angeles area

I have been taking methadone for the past two years that completely helps me deal with extreme me back pain, and neuropathic paion in both my feet and my calves. I just relocated from NYC to Los Angeles, and was wondering if anyone could refer me to a good pain specialist doctor who will prescribe methadone in my area?

I have literally tried every medicine in the book, but for my pain methadone works best. I have great health coverage, so there would be no problem there. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

What is your medical condition? How long have you been dealing with chronic pain? Did you see a pm specialist in New York? Did he release your medical records?

I think you said in another post similar to this that your methadone dose is pretty high & you have already missed a couple doses?

We are not allowed to post physician's names nor specific medical clinics. If I were you I would look up the American academy of pain management to search for a certified pain management doctor.

If you look under "Tips" in this forum there is a link provided by an author, TDX... to help find physicians in your area. I haven't found my own pm on that list so I'm uncertain of its accuracy.

If you manage to get an appt it is extremely doubtful you will get the med/dosage you seek-especially without medical records. Anyone who walks into a docs office asking for a particular narcotic is usually looked at as a "drug seeker", someone looking for med's for a purpose other than treating chronic pain. Just so you know.

I doubt anyone here will be able to help you with your request, but if you want to share what you're going through maybe we can help you in other ways.

You should know though that we cannot give out Dr.s names!
