Hi,
I have had breathing difficulties for like a month or more now. It started when I had flu and i was on a plane..i had problems taking in deep breath. there was tightness in the chest, mainly in the bronchial area.
At first i thought it would go away, but it didn't,,the breathing got more difficult and i had to see the doctor..the doc diagnosed me with a flu and gave me a flu shot and amoxicillin 500 mg.. i was allergic to it and had to stop using it..then the doc knowing about my still persisting breathing difficulties he prescribed me Azithromycin 250..he assured me that my lungs are perfectly healthy although he had not seen my x ray, just examined my lungs with a stethoscope..but there were others who were diagnosed with pneumonia...the doc said i have nothing to worry about and i returned home relieved with a peace of mind...but the breathing did not get any better...i again went to the doc, he and a nurse examined me properly,,checked my family history and asked if i smoke..i stopped smoking since i had the flu. and the doc suspects its an infection caused by the after effects of quitting cigarettes..he didn't mention bronchitis..although the symptoms are very close to bronchitis..he prescribed me..sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 antibiotics and an inhaler..it relieves me to some extent..but is not making much difference...i'm on these medications and I take vapourising steam every night and when i cough out my phelgm it is yellowish brown and green and occasional small streaks of blood are present in it..streaks of blood are specially there in the mucus from my nose..i don't have any fever, fatigue or anything else..which i had when i had flu but its gone now..i don't mean to bore you with my detailed story but this is very frustrating and its getting difficult to co-op with my daily life...should i be worried??
