Having trouble finding the catagorie of pain killer that Ultram falls in

I have been taking Ultram for 7 months and all I know is that it is a type of nerve dentening pain med. Can anyone tell me what the exact catagory is that this med is classified as, please.

Hi Donald. I have no idea what "dentening" means. It does not exist in any of my dictionaries. Ultram is a "quasi-narcotic." That means it is not a narcotic; but its pain fighting qualities give it slightly more teeth than aspirin or Tylenol. I tried it many years ago. I could eat it like candy and still have no better pain relief. Compared to today's effective, powerful pain drugs (Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, Kadian), etc., Ultram is a very mild analgesic. I hope this helps.
