I was told when I was in Middle School that I had mild scoliosis. My back is higher on one side. I have seen doctors who have told me it would be something I would need to learn to live with. Also had two doctors tell me that I should have no pain with my scoliosis. My left leg is also shorter than my right which causes right hip pain. I can't sleep on my stomach or lay down on my stomach. I have had issues with sciatica on my right side since I was 16. I have been to chiropractors for adjustments, which help for about a day or so. Has anyone else had any similar issues? Oh and I just had my left ankle fused (still in cast), which is causing severe right hip pain now.
From what I understand, adults should not sleep on their stomachs. Especially if they have spinal problems.
Have you seen a spinal orthopedic specialist and/or a spinal neurologist for you back problems? Have you had an MRI so your doctor can diagnose what exactly is causing your pain? Have you seen a pain management specialist that is a phsyiatrist so you can try a variety of treatment methods?
One should never have any type of treatment, especially chiropractic adjustments, without a spinal MRI and/or CT scan and gotten an accurate diagnosis from a spine specialist. Many time chiropractors and physical therapists can make your problems and pain worse unless they know exactly what is causing your pain.
I pray you find answers and relief soon.

I don't sleep on my stomach intentionally. I toss and turn a lot while I sleep so I wake up on my stomach at times. When that happens, I can hardly turn over because my back hurts so bad. Yes I have seen a spinal orthopedic specialist who said I do have scoliosis but it was not bad enough for surgery so I would need to learn to live with it. I'm sure I need to find another doctor who will tell me more than I just need to learn to live with it. Thanks
