    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

I have a couple of questions... thank you!
Can you get a cortisone shot and also take Medrol pack? I have three areas of pain, hip is the worst, prescribed the Medrol pack but want to know if doctor could do shot too at least for hip which is AGONY right NOW....
Also, how long does cortisone (shot) stay in your system?
Should I be told to stay off my feet (hip) after cortisone shot?
    Thank you!!

These are questions that you should discuss with both the M d who prescribes the Medrol dose pack and the MD who is proposing steroid injections.

As an RN, I'd think not, but your MD may see that the potential benefits to you may make it worth the risks.

The steroid that is injected stays in your body about a month

Unless instructed other wise by your MD, you should.not have to stay off of your feet after the procedure. Again, this may be different in your situation, so please follow the instructions of the MD who will perform the injections

    Good wishes,
