frozen shoulder
darla315 posted:
it has only been 6 days since i was diagnosed with a frozen shoulder but it has progressively gotten worse since last august---my physical therapist sent me home with a tens unit(feels like pins and needles) and this has helped with my pain immensely--when my shoulder wakes me up at night which was hourly i set it for another half hour and it relieves the pain and i'm able to sleep for longer periods of time--of course the other advantage is not having to take so many pain relieving medications--i have a long way to go but at least there is something out there that helps relieve the pain

hey frozen shoulder, did you mean to post this as a "tip" or a "discussion" tend to get more replies from discussions, if you need some help/advice. my only advice to you, is to not wear the tens unit for more than 2 hours at a time. when mine works for my sciatica-like leg pain, it works wonders, but on occasion it can make my pain worse. ask your PT if there is a max amount of time you should wear the unit. take care, B

thanks for that info--i did intend for it to go wherever the most people would see it to help whoever has frozen shoulder issues--and i do only have the tens unit on for 30 minutes at a time---the daytime discomfort is pretty much gone unless i just got done with a pt session but the night time pain starts about 3 hours after ive gone to sleep so its still very disruptive--but improved from what it was---thanks

Hi Darla315;
I don't have to tell you this at times your arm an shoulder will feel as though you can't lift it up very far. Then
you will have the numbness and still be very painful. Did they try muscle relaxer's as well as Neurontin, this helps with nerve pain. Well please keep us posted on how well your
doing.Im glad the Tens Unit worked well for you.
