I have also been diagnosed with CT when discussing surgery with
my pcp she explained to me that the earlier you have the surgery done the better the results because when put off the thumb muscle slowely wastes away (if you hold your hand flat out and look across your hand your thumb muscle will appear flattened if wasting has already occurred) if you put off surgery and the mucles wastes then surgery will no longer help also docs often prescibe topical voltaren along with an oral nsaid so nothing to worry about there and maloxicam is usually not prescribed for someone with high bp because it does have a tendency to increase bp and is therefore not prescriped to people who have hypertension to begin with. I suggest having your doc order an emg to diagnose CT and then see a orthopedic surgeon and get it fixed asap if muscle wasting in your thumb has not occurred yet good luck!
