Hello Bren, Joy, and all

Things have been about the same on my end. Maybe worse. Since I found out the point of my pain was not originating from my back I have been gardening. It is the first time in more than three years that I was able to do anything like that. I think I have been overdoing it. I am so sore even though I have stuck with it almost two weeks. I am coming to the conclusion of all the back breaking jobs now. I hurt too much. I can't be told anything, I just but with my own head and can't find a stopping place.

I am going to therapy every week now for a special kind of therapy. I have to drive 11/2 hours each way for the appointment. So many exercises I am supposed to be doing at home as well.

I take the Oxycodone 15mg up to one every 4 hours and a 75mg Fentanyl mcg? hr changing it every third day. It is weak on the third day. The meds are pretty well managed as long as I don't sit but a few minutes at the time, and don't tend to overdo the work as I have lately. The sitting problem does change ones life. I was asked to write my story and it very well could help someone else, and I plan to do that one morning when I am able to sit long enough to get through it.

Just trying to catch everyone up. Take care and gentle hugs to all.

I guess I really can't type. I meant the patch is weak on the third day of use. I didn't mean to have a question mark after the Fentanyl. I hope you were able to figure it out.

So Charl, you should request that your doc write you a script for every 3rd day on the patch. It works much better for me. Hang in there kiddo, you will do great with your new therapy, B

You might try asking your doctor about changing your fentanyl patch every 48 hours instead of every 72 hours. The research shows that many people need to change them every other day instead of every third day.

What other things are you doing for your pain besides the pain meds?

Take care, Annette

Annette30 is correct. I meant to type about a 48hr change-out for the patch. Go figure, the point of my post had errors! LOL!

Charl1942 replied to Ilbeityetanotherpainpatient's response:
I will ask the doc for enough to change the patch every second day next visit. I am okay, since I have some meds left for the next visit. Don't ask me how that happened. Annette, I am exercising physically at home between visits to the therapist once a week. Then she does internal therapy while I am there.

Sorry Bren, that you were not able to get the equipment I need. I will have to figure out something even if I have to order something online. We must talk later.

I hate exercise, but I know that being still is the worse thing for FMS, it causes stiffness and more pain.

I recently started doing belly dancing classes that are taught on TV, I record the episodes and do two episodes a day, before I go sit in my hot tub. I do them ALONE, lol. I always wanted to learn and they are set up for good a 15-20 minutes of exercise after a Yoga like warm up. I fast forward through the commercials and the second Yoga warm up. They do upper and lower body workouts, so far so good. We will see.

What is "internal therapy" that the PT does with you? How long have you been doing that, and does it seem to help?

Take care, Annette

Charl1942 replied to annette030's response:
Internal therapy is done inside the body rather than outside as is normally done for therapy.I have been having it a few weeks. It is done for a sitting problems that stems from a pelvic twist from repeated tailbone fails.

If you don't want to say, that is fine, but I still do not understand about this internal therapy. How do the therapists do therapy "inside the body rather than outside"?

Take care, Annette

If you prefer not to post a reply to this question that is okay with me. Some things are too personal to put on a message board. I will Google this or try to find out about it with some other search engine.

I do not use email to communicate with folks I meet on line until we really get to know each other, due to a bad experience I had a few years back. Certainly not your fault at all. Please do not be offended by this.

Take care, Annette

Annette I am certainly not offended. You may want to check out spuninfo.org for the condition and from there you might be able to figure out the other things you wish to know.
