Hello Mommy's -
I'm posting in hopes for to gain some advice on the topwh/any personal thoughts/experiences on this topic. Any feed back would be wonderful & helpful. t
ic oThanks! (sorry for typos)f holding baby weight & thinking about another child.
My daughter is 13months old. I'm not "overweight" (170lbs @ 5'8"). I am very healthy and eat very well. I have breastfed this whole time with her & eat very well. My activity level/working out isnt what i would like it to be (considering I've been a highly competitive athlete my whole life). However, I have held my weight (not all) and don't feel totally comfortable @ my current weight. I have heard from other mothers who breastfeed that their weight came off much slower. I have also heard that weit comes off faster after the second child. Needless to say, my husband and I have been dicussing having another child fairly soon (around late summer).
Being that I have heard very conflicting things about "not loosing all the weight when you will put more back on & that the up and down of weight loss/gain could be worse than just holding a bit of it for now. I'm curious to know

I went down to my pre-pregnancy weight before my husband & I decided to try again. I wasn't comfortable going through another pregnancy still having the extra baby weight on & knowing I was just going to gain more & then it would be twice as hard to loose it all. So after I lost the weight we got pregnant again and now our youngest is almost 1 1/2 yrs old & again I'm almost back down to my original weight. But for me it was more about how I felt comfortable & it was very much a personal choice. After my second was about 6 months I dieted like crazy & worked out twice a day 5 days a week until I got down to where I am now. Once I started going back to school I became too busy to work out as much, so now I'm loosing weight slower. For me maintaining wasn't good enough, I had to loose it. I think you just need to figure out what your ok with though. If you feel ok with getting pregnant again soon & just working it all off later after you have your second then that's what you should do. You said you where an athlete and competitive, so I don't see why it would be hard to loose it later if you put your mind to it.
