    Pink Eye

My 1 yr old grandsons babysitter has pink eye. I intend to keep him from her for at least two days. Is that enough? How dangerous is pink eye for a one year old? When can I be sure that he is in the clear?
    Chris_WebMD_Staff responded:
    Hi and welcome,

I hope by now he's gone to the doctors. I believe for it to be truly gone and non-contagious it should be treated with medication. I'm not an expert but he needs to be seen by a doc. I think after two days or so on meds he can then be considered non contagious. I hope he is doing much better.
Here is some information from WebMD on pink eye.

    Thanks Chris,
The baby sitter went to the Dr and recieved the necessary treatment for the Bacterial version , We kept our Grandson with us for three days before returning him to the provider. He never exhibited any symptoms at all and the crisis has been averted. Thanks for the help and the links.
