stomach tightness

have a one year old daughter who has recently switched from soy formula to whole milk the doctor told us there would be no problem and if their was it would be very evident. The has been no major issue but drom time to time she cry as if to be in pain and her stomach is very tight hard like a rock and i am wondering if this is a normal transition or something to be concerned about. Her mother is lactose intolerant and am wondering if this could be the problem
