    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Bangs Head into floor

When my 13 month old gets upset from being told not to do something or removed from something he is doing he bangs his head into the floor, or the couch or whatever is around him. I have tried calming him down and holding him and I've let him just do it and ignored it, but it doesn't stop. He sometimes cries because he hurt himself. He has given himself a bloody nose as well. Afterward he charges us and hits us with his firsts. I don't want to raise a bratty kid and wonder what I can do about it now, and if it is just a phase?
How can I discipline him so he is not going to grow up and be terrible? I think he's too little for timeout, but do have him sit in the "calm spot"...which he just crawls out of. But he is calmer.

That is strange. My 13 mo daugher hits herself in the head a lot. Mostly when she's tired or in trouble. I'm concerned and don't know what to do.
