    Father's Day

What does everyone have planned for Father's day? Anything fun and exciting?? Any gift suggestions?

We are driving up to my parents house for the weekend. I have yet to get DH anything.....I guess I need to do that tonight :-) I will take him to an early dinner Saturday night to avoid the crowds.

I'm a little bitter about Father's Day this year. We moved over Mother's Day and I didn't even get a card. I was going to boycott and then decided to grow up and get DH a card from DD and offer up a round of golf. He so owes me!

I dont blame you for being bitter! I would be as well. I will agree that he does owe you.

I think Olivia and I are taking DH to Applebees to share a 2-for-20 and then to a movie at the Drive-in. Livi has never been to a movie before so this will definately be a first. They happen to have a little play area for children so i see myself spending more time in the play area. Livi is a little hyper so I see her climbing on the screen of the movie. Funnier part, it is called the Jungle so she will run wild in the jungle. Actually it is very family orientated so should be fine.

My dh for the most part is not a big celebrater of any holidays so unlike myself he does not go all out...I came from a large family that celebrates everything. SO i too was disappointed this year and was going to scratch the holiday for him, but my heart told me otherwise and hope he comes to the otherside and starts to enjoy holidays more!

What is up with our slacker husbands this year? Mine jipped me too and I was going to do the same but like all of you ladies I just couldn't. I'm pregnant with another girl, so I decided to get DH a picture frame that says The Girls and had a friend take a nice photo of me and DD. Then every year DH can update the picture with all of his girls.

Dh would rather not celebrate Father's Day but we will probably go to my parents house for dinner. I got DH a t-shirt from the kids. DH knows better than to do nothing on Mother's Day - plus the kids would want to do something for me - and now something for him.

every father's day I pick up a new book for DH and DS to read together at bedtime. I always make it a daddy themed book. This year, I went with a whole theme of Daddy and me. I got a book from each DS to give to DH for bedtime stories ("My Daddy and Me" from DS1 and "Hop on Pop" from DS2). Then I got a bucket and bought three age-appropriate games for DS1 and DH to play together and their favorite snacks, so it's like a themed gift basket, except in a bucket. The idea is for them to use the items in the bucket to have a father and sons evening (although DS2 is too little to play games).
