I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I can not imagine how difficult this is for you.
According to this information on septicemia , it is caused by a bacterial or other infection.The first step for treatment is a quick diagnosis and an antibiotic is given to attack many different types of bacteria. Once the actual/specific bacteria or infection is identified, the doctors can switch to another specific antibiotic to treat the sepsis.
