2 year old son with low grade fever for 3 weeks

    Hello,
My son (2 years old) started with a low grade fever about 3 weeks ago (99.7 - 100.7). I read in a couple older posts in here that could be normal. But once or twice a day he might hit the 101.7 area.
He is in great spirits. Plays normal, throws fits (like a normal 2 year old), eats good, isn't losing weight...
We have been to our doctor multiple times, they are stumped. All tests come back fine (blood). They did test for lyme disease and nothing. Adeno test came back negative. Epstein Bar came back positive, but they think it was faulty cause they said he would have had it since he was 1 (he just turned 2).
They did test his urine and it was fine, but it was urine my wife was able to contain right before going to the doctors. Could it still be a possible UTI?
The doctor is now sending us to Tufts Medical center on Friday to see the Blood specialist and Cancer specialist. We are freaking out a little. I am hoping this is just precaution but still a little scary.
Is this mostly to rule out everything or could we possibly be in for some VERY bad news!
    Any info would be great!
    Thanks very much in advance!

Glad to hear your daughter is ok!
After getting 8 tubes of blood drawn at Tufts MC my boy is fine. They still don't know exactly what he has, but they think it is just back to back viruses...and that he might be just a "hotter" kid.

They said, if there was something really wrong the fever would have progressed within the 3 weeks (higher and more frequent).

Said don't take his temp unless he "looks" sick or is complaining about something. Again...he is just a hotter kid so taking his temp every time he feels hot, we will drive ourselves crazy.
