    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Hi, my niece and nephew have problems sleeping (ages 6 and 23 respectively). Their doctor told my sister-in-law to give them over the counter melatonin about an hour before bedtime. This helps them sleep better. It's all natural and helps balance your sleep cycle.

Oops, my nephew is 3, not 23! LOL

I wouldn't dare give a toddler melatonin! I can't believe that was recommended by a licensed physician. The child could eventually become dependant on the pills, plus, it's a pill! I would recommend speak with your physician, there may be some underlying issues.

Liquid melatonin is available and my pediatrician recommended a small dose for my son to help him fall asleep. Don't be so quick to judge.
