    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

[TRIGGER] My father called earlier in the evening to let me know that they just found out my mother has terminal cancer of the lungs and liver. They are giving her 9 to 12 months. I'm in shock right now. I need to get my head on right to figure out what I need to do here. I'm at such a loss. I didn't speak with my mom. She wasn't up for it. My dad said to call back in a couple of days. This is so surreal.

I am so sorry Steph! That is the worst dx to deal with. I lost my mom to breast cancer 7 years ago; and she was able to live with it for 15 years. That is a tough pill to swallow. {{{{{{hugs}}}}} are with you and your family now.

Something pushed me to check here today; I am so glad I did.

I am so sorry. I will keep your mom and your family in my thoughts in prayers.

I do want to say that my step father was diagnosed with cancer and given 6-9 months to live and this was 2 years ago. He is still going strong! So there are miracles out there.

I am so sorry. You and your family are definitely in my thoughts.
4 1/2 years ago, mom had a heart attack and had to be resuscitated and then medi-vacced to a cardiac care unit. It's really hard having a sick parent, especially when you don't live close by. When she's ready, she'll let you know how you can help.
