    Walking with a cast

So I mentioned that Ashton has a walking cast on his leg now, and I do not know how to get him to actually walk on his own! I can't very well take him to school like this, so grandma has been watching him, but he just will not try to walk on it. Anyone else have experience with their kids in leg casts?

One of our our little neighborhood boys broke his leg this summer and had a tough time adjusting to his walking cast too. I think it just takes some kids a little while to trust that it won't hurt. Logan broke his arm as a toddler as despite his young age and reckless personality he seemed to know know that it needed to be protected and was pretty low key for a couple days.

Perhaps he'll be feeling more confident later this afternoon.

Lily broke her ankle when she was 13 months - just starting to cruise at the time. So she was quite a bit younger but like PP said I think it just takes time for them to figure out that it's OK to do it. SHe started out by kind of dropping and dragging it - we could hear her coming lol. She actually graduated form cruising to walking with the thing on her leg.

Sorry to hear he is casted but isn't it amazing how quickly a kid can heal? It's just going to be a few weeks, right?

Yup, just 3 weeks hopefully! I work at the clinic where his Ortho PA is and he told me this morning that he will get the hang of it and not to worry.. Easier said than done when I can't drop him off at school because he won't stand on it or walk

Awww!! He's probably scared to! Or so used to everyone telling him not to walk on it lol!

Maybe lifting him will help bring on the labor

I'm ready! Just got back from a dr appt and am 2 cm dilated and cervix is half thinned out already. She said it shouldn't take too much to get labor going! I have become really uncomfortable the last few days, so I can't wait to get this over with!
