Kindergarten Registration
mrswhitecastle posted:
Kindergarten registration is this week. How did this happen? Wasn't I just potty training her and moving her to a big girl bed?????

I must admit, I'm looking forward to both girls being in the same school. That's never happened before, and it's going to make it much easier for dropping off and picking up.

Thank goodness our Kindergarten is only half day, so it will help ME to transition better. I know she will be fine. Me -- not so much.

Crazy! I think it is nuts that almost a whole year went by since I had to register Michael...I was so excited for it and now K is passing us by....

Aw, she is getting big, isn't she? Hard to believe registration is already happening when school doesn't start for 8-9 months.

I can't believe it's that time too- SOB!SOB!

We registered DS 2 weeks ago, though we won't know where he'll actually go to kindergarten until sometime in May or June, I think. NYC has such a convoluted system.

I have the reverse of you- next year will be the first time since DD started daycare that we don't have the same drop-off, so it will be weird for us, but we live very near their current daycare so it shouldn't be too bad, other than likely having to take DS on the bus to school. It's the beginning of the end for our time at their great daycare.

Where does the time go? Soon the posts will be about packing them off to college!

I registered Ashton for Kindergarten yesterday as well. I am excited, although the time did go too fast, but I really love it now that he is older and able to do fun things. Can't wait til DD is this age and we can start doing family trips again!

We don't register until March 28th with parent orientation on Feb 28th.

I am not thinking about college yet!! But I am sure time will fly by fast. I'm sure the next mile stone to give me a heart attack is hitting puberty, then getting their drivers licenses.

K round up here isn't until April.

It really does go to fast. It seems like yesterday that I was enrolling my oldest in K and now she in Jr. High. She is already talking about possible college choices. I am so not ready.

Parent Orientation isn't until March and at that point you schedule your kindergarten registration (early May). Is it just me or is this a bit late? Other districts near us did their registration in January. I can't imagine that I'll have a kindergartener soon! And a brand new baby. Exciting yet all too soon. I'm only 25!
iocasta responded:
I can't believe that Levi will be leaving the early childhood division and will be entering the lower school division of his school. Before I know it he will be taking high school admission exams.
Stephensmom1214 responded:
I'm feeling very thankful that we get to put this off for a little while longer still... since DS is on an IEP, and has been in school for 2 years, I don't have to do anything to register him here... Besides that, we are hoping to be moving this summer, so I'll be putting it off until then, I guess.

We have K registration in March, can't wait for DD1 to go. We have full day K & it will be great for both older kids to get on the bus at 8am
