Rough Weekend

Turns out Emily has the flu. We fought with her fever all weekend. I'll admit, high fevers tend to freak me out. I'm OK with 102 or under, but yesterday, we were really working to keep hers under 104. It finally broke last night. Phew! It went back up during the night, but at least it broke for awhile.
The highlight of our weekend was that the Patriots lost!!!

Our weekend was good. Grocery, play date on Saturday, then Church, then a UK basketball game on tv.
Sunday was a bit of shopping and then snacking and watching all the pre and full football stuff just vegging out and LAUNDRY! Had a few drinks with DH.
Overall great time!

Scary, I hope she is feeling better. I was at our annual Partner's meeting all weekend. This year it was in Chicago so no travel for me. Pretty boring all in all with lots of drinking in the evening. I did get a chance yesterday afternoon to do some clothing shopping with another Partner who is a good friend from our NJ office. I picked up a couple of dresses, a sweater and a blouse though I'm thinking about returning one or both dresses.

Wow, that is scary, I'm glad she is improving. We are all sick here as well, mostly bad colds and/or allergies and sinus problems. I've had a nasty sinus infection all week, the thing just will not ease. Hurts to blink.
DD fell down the stairs Friday night and landed on her face. I thought initially she had broken her ankle because her foot got lodged in between the spires of the railing at a funny angle, but turns out that was OK. But she ended up with a nice swollen cheekbone on her left side, as well as bruises on her shoulder and hip. Her eye does not look good even today, though the swelling has gone down some. She is a trooper though. Her little girlfriends were petting and cooing at her when she walked into school so I guess she is in good hands.
Yay Giants! Turned out to be a good game after all.

Our weekend was rough as well. Once my antibiotics kicked in, I was feeling better, but DH sliced open his finger at about 12:30AM Saturday night when a glass he was washing dropped. He had to go off to the ER (alone
because I had to stay and watch the kids). He got 6 stitches and it took less time than we thought it would going to the ER on a Saturday night in the city- DH said the drunks were just starting to show up in force when he left at 3am- our bars stay open until 4.I stayed up to wait for him, so it was almost 3:30 when we got to sleep and the kids were up at 8. We were runnign aroudn all day yesterdya nd then we wathced th big game that we hated seeing.
He's fine, but we are both dragging today.

We spent last week fighting the fever too but it was an ear infection that wasn't there on Monday when we went to the dr but there on Thursday when we went back.
After a few doses of antibiotics the fever was a lot lower but she must have been sick of taking medicine or feeling better b/c she refused any ibuprofen.
