MIL -- thoughts and prayers needed (triggs)
    iocasta posted:
[TRIGGER] My MIL is failing. We are flying out to Scottsdale tomorrow to be with her. We celebrated her 81st birthday last weekend in Chattanooga. On Sunday, she went out to Scottsdale to be with John's youngest sister to be with her for a month. We had a wonderful visit without a specter of her immediate decline. So we are very thankful for that. On Tuesday, she suffered congestive heart failure and has gone downhill very quickly. Her heart is barely functioning, something like 20% with a pacemaker it might get up to 30% plus her kidneys are shutting down. Sorry, this is probably more detail than you need. Long story short, we aren't sure what this next week or two will bring. This is very hard. I have to say I am closer to her than I was with my mom. I have known her for nearly 30 years and love her dearly. Levi keeps saying that he is very worried about her. He told me last night that he loves her more than me right now. I told him that was very nice. We have explained to him that she is dying that her heart isn't working right and that she is very old. This will be the third Grandparent that he has lost in as many years. It is never easy.
