I love 6.

Levi is able to do so much on his own without me even thinking about it or I can say can you do x,y,z for me and its done. Yet, he is still sweet innocent and just a little gullible, like he still believes in Santa. We were down in Chattanooga over the weekend and went to Rock City. We had never been before. It wasn't a hokey as we feared but there were the requisite gnomes. Levi made some comment about them being just stone. I told him that they are like that when we look at them and when we aren't they back about their business. Last night, we when we are home having dinner Levi goes "I think the gnomes are doing their work now." I love it.

I realize this is more for the elementary age board but IMHO, it is a depressing board.

6 is fun. 7 is even better. My 2 boys together is cute. Most of the time I sit back and listen to them talk, play. It is so funny to think how far they have come.
Taking them to the zoo, childrens museum is different too. They do not just play there now they experience it, try and figure out how things work, read the signs about the as example animals, plants at the zoo. It is so much fun. Whereas before they would just cruise on through look and move on. Still fun but now I am learning more right along with them!

Exactly. Levi is constantly trying to figure out how things work. He is also reading signs and ads on the bus. It is great.

I like 6, but agree with Sandra, that 7 is even better. It's so cool to watch them learn to read. It opens up a whole new world to them when they acquire that skill. I love how helpful they want to be, too.

I had always worried that as they get older, they won't be as fun as they were as babies. I'm finding that they still remain so much fun, but become so much less work!

I think they should just rename this board to include 6s and 7s.

I agree 7 is better, I'm hoping 8 is even better than 7. It's my 5 year old that is causing me all the stress

That's great that you all post something I will look forward to next year. The 5's are proving challenging right now. DS is having problems listening to direction from his teachers. Recently they removed one of his consistent teachers from his room at preschool, now they just have fill-ins & no one consistent since summer is coming.

At home he is still cooperating & doing things we ask him to do. The problem just seems to be at school.
