weekends were relaxing?!!!

WOWZA! I'm exhausted.

I am working 4 day weeks this summer. So Friday I got up and ran and then it was a haircut for Wil and myself. Then the bank, a bit of shopping and to our new club for lunch and swimming (Wil, Ava and I). We closed the pool at 8!! Saturday we did family pictures at 9:30 and then to a neighboring town for a beer cheese festival (DH's love). Naps for the kiddos and I went to the grocery. Then back to the pool until 7:30. Sunday was Church, lunch out, a quick produce trip, naps and a long run for me and back to the pool for 1.5 hours. Then DH and I had projects we put off until Sunday night, organize laundry room and straighten the house (sitter is there this morning). This morning was tough! There was a light rain and I really wanted to sleep in.

How was everyone's weekend?

Sounds like you had a crazy busy weekend! A beer cheese festival sounds really cool.

We went to Six Flags and got our season passes. We had such a good time, we are headed back out there right after the gym this morning!

Action packed as always. Saturday we had two camp meet and greets to go to that were back-to-back. Then DH needed to do some clothes shopping. We had lunch out. Levi had saved enough to get the 50" Imperial Cruiser at the Lego store so we did that as well plus some other shopping errands. I worked in my gardens for over an hour weeding and watering. Grocery shopped. Levi and I made cookies while DH went out for a hair cut. Levi and I worked on reading and writing for about 30 minutes. Plus all of the standard Saturday chores. I didn't have time to get my 6 Km row in. DH did get his 4 mile run in.

Sunday, another hour or so in the gardens. A trip to the Farmer's Market and some additional shopping including what we fondly call a booze run where we go a stock up on wine and spirits from a large liquor store. Levi had a birthday party to go to and I had a pass due mani/pedi to go to. We both worked with Levi on reading and writing for about 30 minutes. I did get my 6 Km row in. Plus all of the standard Sunday chores.

There wasn't any real down time but there never is on the weekend. I would have liked to have gotten to the pool on one of the two days but it wasn't in the cards.

It was okay here for the most part. On Saturday we had swimming lessons. Then they played outside in the water.
The Y coordinator talked me into taking them to Parents night out saturday night. (Free for members I had no clue). So I had some time for myself and the boys had a blast swimming, bouncy house, eating pizza. Fun! I can do that every month for free. And even at another location so I can have every other saturday evening. It is good as my babysitter situation is going away and my replacement has some health issues now.
Sunday I went through the boys clothes and sorted out sizes. I had a new dresser sitting so I got that in their bedroom and organized their stuff. What a project !

I always feel guilty around 5 pm on Saturday when I look forward to getting back to my office - where no one asks for a snack or whines!

Weekend was: Beach, Madagascar and watching the Kings go down in flames...a distant memory already...

Beer and cheese sounds good - and it's 9 am here - is that wrong??

What..running around with an almost 5 yerold and a 3 1/2 year old is nto a piece of cake!

My kids had no school on Friday- staff developemtn dya- so we had an even more exhuating than usual 3 dya wekend. Friday we took them to the amusement park Donald Trump owns at the the site of the ice skating rin in Cnetrla Park. They had a blast- I rode on one ride- the fun slide- and decided I am just too old!
Then they were showing the Mets Ynakees game friday night on a big screen near us- ab unch of our kids friends were going, So we did that. Saturdy we wnet to ride on another NYC carousle- our summer acitivity we started last year, who knew NYC had so many. Then we went to the playground, then we watched some more horrifying Mets-Yankees series. Yesterday was swimming, grocery shopping and a kids concert.

That plus all of the housdhold stuff I try to do during the weekend to save time during the week and I am beat!

my office is so quiet by comparison!

I think once you have kids the words relaxing and weekend are often incompatible but we did much better than usual around here and actually spent quite a bit of time at home.

DD1 had a sleepover each night so DH and I had the little two together from dinner on which is a nice variation. The boys grilled on Friday night and treated DD2 and I to a grand dinner on the patio. DD and I returned the favor on Saturday morning and made homemade cinnamom rolls for breakfast. We spent the early afternoon as a family playing board games and washing the car and then the kids helped DH with his "honey do" list while I caught up on two episodes of Game of Thrones. Sunday, after picking DD1 up, we went for a bike ride and then to the club for a swim and lunch with friends.

I enjoy these kinds of weekends every once in a while but must admit I love the crazy busy activity filled ones too!

ahh that was when we had no kids...

Took Friday off to get a little something done around the house(ended up hurting my back doing wood) & for their pre-K graduation. Saturday nursed a hurt back with advil & heating pad. Sunday took a walk - which was too much, cleaned & did laundry, nothing too exciting. My back still isn't 100% so another day of rest today.

Maybe heading to the pool today if it doesn't rain.
