Well I must say this has been an eye opening experience. I am amazed at how un-professional some organizations are.
I had an interview for an HR position at the university. I got an email on Monday stating thanks but no thanks. Problem? It had a whole different position listed in it. So I emailed them back on Monday questioning if this email was meant for me for the position I applied/interviewed for , a mistake or was I really out of the running. Nothing, no response ect.
I have filled out applications that truly are full of age discrimination -asking for lots of dates ect. The application process is brutal all on line and you can never send your resume on. The computer automatically decides if you are "valuable" enough.
Or I have interviewed for some who simply never, ever get back to me.
I will keep pluggin away. There are hopes at my current job of more permanent work or full time so maybe that will come through.
I know it will be tough because I took out time to care for my family so I am prepared. I am in a wierd spot as I have tons of experience yet there is a gap and employers do not know what to do with me.
I still have my options of being a more independent/consultant agent ect. as well.
Anyway just stinks....thanks for listening to me babble.

Sorry the work place is so rough! I don't plan on going back to work, unless I absolutely have to. I worry about how employers consider applicants that have that gap. It's such a shame that putting family needs/wants first makes it so tough to get back into the workforce.

Hopefully your current job will come through for you, or you will find one that is a great fit.

I am trying to apply for a job and it is a total mess. They listed the job online but after you do all the form-filling and hit "apply now" you get a server error message from their end - some Microsoft gobbledeegook. You are instructed to go to a specific building/job assist company if you have trouble applying online- so I went there, and they have no record of the job in their database at all. And I was the third person that week to come asking. So I called their headquarters and talked someone into taking my unorganized. I'm not really sure I want to work there anyway after all this. If they even got my application. So yeah, it's pretty crazy out there, I hear ya. Emailing you about a job you are not even applying for is pretty bad though.
