Sudden hair loss in 4-year old

I've noticed much more hair coming out while combing and brushing my 4-year old daughter's hair over the past couple weeks. She's healthy, gets regular checkups. Is this normal for this age or should I take her to her pediatrician? About to start using vitamin E in her hair to see if that helps. Has anyone had a similar experience?
