I guess I took the summer off. New baby and Avery home all day has left me no time for this at all. I've had a wonderful summer although I am very excited to get back to work and have some adult interaction.

Avery starts kindergarten this Monday. This past Thursday we had "bus night" so the kids can meet their new teachers and go for a busride. We've talked to Avery prior and she seemed so excited. We get there and she cowers behind me refusing to meet her teacher, and then WOULD NOT let go of either of us to ride the bus. She was the only child to refuse the bus ride. She sobbed and watched as it drove away.

Anyone have a similar experience or have an idea that we can try for Monday? My worry is Avery will again freak out and cry, not making school the exciting experience we were hoping for.

Good news! Avery got on the bus this morning with no tears..nothing! She has a wonderful bus driver so that is reassuring.

Good to hear that the first day has gone well so far. Hopefully the rest of the day will go just as well. Let us know!
