Happy Thursday! I was supposed to work today but not enough to do. So I am taking a whole day to organize/clean the house. It needs some attention.
The boys are settling into school as this is almost the end of wk 2. Tre is going through the "1st grade thing " that happens in our house. Kind of clingy to Mommy. 1st grade is a in my opinion a big change.
Henry is settling and growing. They both like the new school and so do I . It is way more "peaceful" so to speak. Not 300 students overcrowded. Henry has 21 in his class and Tre 22. Which is really good as the other school had up to 25 or 26 in a class. They also have assistants that come in which didn't happen in the other school. Way better !
Me: I am still job hunting and it has been so interesting. My last job interview was such a joke and I knew I would never work there. It was quite an experience in which you have to find humor in !
I know the right thing will come along. Just trusting it will happen.
No plans again for the weekend but hope to get out more I have been battling sinus/allergy type issues. I do feel better today.
How is everyone doing? School updates? I love to hear how our little ones are doing in school (even if they aren't soooo little anymore!

Glad to hear that everyone is liking the new school. Those class sizes sound terrific!

School is going well here. We have started to get some homework, but it is quite manageable. Elizabeth is loving Kindergarten. I take her and drop her off. As soon as the teacher shows up, it's "OK, you need to go now, Mommy!"

So far, the only one that is clingy is me!

Glad to hear school is going well for the boys. For both DD1 and DS, 1st grade was the most challenging grade emotionally and developmentally. So many new things to learn coupled with a growing need for independance that is not fully understood (or even welcomed in my DS's case--LOL).

My kids all started back to school yesterday and it went well. DD1 loves her 4th grade teachers who are all math specialists and tend to run a structured classroom without drama and excess emotion which is what she likes best. DS also has great teachers, 2 of which came to us after many year of teaching in San Francisco at an all boy's school. This is especially good for L's class as they have 18 boys (and 11 girls) and the energy is different than in classes that are more evenly distributed. DD2 started Pre-K like a champ and I was a mixture of happiness and sadness as I walked my last baby to the door for her first day or her last year of "baby" school.

They are all excited for today to be over as we are picking them up early tomorrow to head back to the lake for our last official weekend of summer.

Glad school is going well! I know you were a little nervous about the change but it sounds like you made the right choice!

We don't go back to school until next week....The 5th....I am excited for him to start and to get back to a normal routine. Our ditrict has a Kindergarten center which is all the kindergartners in the district....then in 1st through 4th, they all separate into their own elementary schools. I am a bit nervous that he will be with such older kids but I guess everyone does it and he will be fine.

So happy that the boys are enjoying school! I think that Ryder will go through some sort of "1st grade" phase too. We had orientation the other night and met his teacher. First off, she's female (kindergarten he had a male teacher)and he kept walking around the classroom saying "it's too pink" (there were a lot of pink accessories). She's very young and has been teaching for 6 years and in those 6 years this is her 4th school...hmmm. I had a couple of kids tell me they had her for a teacher and didn't like her. Said she was mean and yelled and had emotional break downs in class. UGH! So do not want Ryder having to deal with that kind of crap in school. I plan to keep a close eye on him and ask lots of questions. Here's to a drama free year!!

Cristopher is struggling in 1st grade. He has ADHD and his meds aren't adjusted right. We have an appointment today. I'm hoping that we can get them adjusted and get him back on track. He is such a good boy that I hate that he is struggling right now. Homework last night that should have taken 10 minutes took him over an hour and then I gave up because we were both frustrated. He had checked out already.

The others are doing great. Even though school just started we are ready for the holiday weekend.
