I posted before about making yogurt. Well, I'm trying it. So far, it has been really easy! I'll know in about 10 hours if I was successful....

If it turns out tasting good, it will be SSSOOO much cheaper than buying it.

It turned out really well! I'm going to tweak a few things next time, though.

I used a very basic recipe. You can use any type of milk, I used skim.

-Heat 42 oz milk to 180*. Then cool to 110*.
-Mix 6 oz plain yogurt into milk. (Once you make the yogurt, you can then use that as a starter next time.)
-Let it sit at 100* for 10 hours. (I bought a yogurt maker, but you can use your oven. I just didn't like the idea of having my oven on that long.)
-Cool in fridge for 3 hours.

That's it! Next time, I'm going to add just a bit of sugar, and I'll either strain it before putting it in the fridge or add some powdered milk to the lukewarm milk so it will be a bit thicker.

It was so easy, though. Yay for a successful experiment!
