Who is your "bestie"?
Haylen_WebMD_Staff posted:
When times are tough, you have good news to share or you just want to "yak" with someone who knows you best, who gets the call?

I rarely talk on the phone - text, email, facebook to make plans, share news, etc. with most of my friends. But there is one friend that I talk to on the phone multiple times a day and have for over 15 years. We share every detail of our day and I always feel happier/less "mommy anxiety" when I get off the phone. She's married, works full time and has two kids, just like I do so maybe that's why we mesh so well. And we fight too but then we laugh about it a few hours later.

Do you have a "bestie"? Or more than one? Is it a family member?

My bestie passed away from breast cancer 3 years ago. She was older than me. She had kids a few years younger than me. We met through work. She was like a "mom" to me as well as a friend. We talked every day for a few hours. Since her passing my SO has taken that spot. Life has gotten so crazy busy that I honestly just don't have time right now. Yes it sucks when I want to complain about him but it has also helped us become stronger. We now talk about everything and I mean everything. He is good about giving me a reality check when I need it. He also tells me I over communicate but really we just have different communication styles.

I'm so sorry to hear that! (((hugs))) That must have been a horrible time for you

It's really great SO moved into that slot and your relationship strengthened. I can't imagine my husband wanting to discuss the everyday details and hear the complaints that I share with my bestie but maybe I should talk to him more. We are ships passing in the night these days!

Top would be my SO and my mom. Then my friend that I have known all of my life. 2 girls from college days that have been there for me through every up and down. And another BFF who I went to highschool with and became BFF in college. So total 6 LOL. The 4 girls, I cherish and love just like sisters. My SO because he is my everything and is there on every level. And of course my mom who I talk to several times a week and always offers the best advice.
