Insanity Workout

I am going from not working out in like 15 years to this. It is intense. My husband got it and when I said I wanted to do it with him, he laughed. Now, I have to prove to him I can do it! Has anyone else done it? We are two days in and I can't feel my body haha!

OMG you are my hero! I have no experience with that one. I have done a few P90X Dvds and they kicked my rear. Good for you - you have to let us know how it goes. Update daily. Seriously. You rock. ROCK! You GO mama!!

Oh my! Good luck to you! Don't overdo it & hurt yourself!

A bunch of guys at DH's work are doing the Insanity workout. He is not really getting into it yet but is thinking about it.

I am doing a 100 day burpee challenge now(only 29 days left). When I am done with that I am going to start Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred.

I do the Insanity workout. I'm now in week 3 of my first month for the 2nd time. I did the 1st month 2x in a row last year before our vacation and ended up going back to just running after vacation. Now I've picked it up again because it's a great workout in my house. I was doing the 30 Day Shred before that.

Insanity is exactly that, INSANE. But I like that while it's an intense pace, it's all moves anyone can do. I don't like P90x that much because the pace is soooo slow. I like to move fast and get it done. While the Insanity sux, most of the workouts are 40 mins and the warm up is about 15 mins. So by the time you are 'warmed up', it's nearly half over!

GL! If you stick with it and monitor your diet, you'll see serious results.

Thanks for the motivation guys! Last night's workout wasn't as bad as the day before. The part that gets me is the jumping. There are a lot of jumping excercises and my legs just want to give out. The thing I like about it is that it is cardio so your heart rate goes up and you sweat, a lot. But if you need the break it is ok to take it. For example, I can't go as fast as the people in the video so instead of doing every jump or pushup or lunge or whatever, I will try every other one. The first two nights, the stretching made me want to die LOL, but last night, it was actually relaxing and made me feel good. I am thankful to have my husband to do it with because he motivates me (and it's nice we can do something together).

I also started weight watchers two and half weeks again. I am already creeping weight on when I weigh myself but I think that is ok because it is muscle...right? I am eating healthy and lost 8.5 lbs the first two weeks. I am new to this so what do you guys think?

UK...stupid stupid question. They keep saying to use your core. I guess between lack of excercise and having 2 kids, I have no muscles in my stomach and I really don't know how to "use my core." Any advice?

As you're doing the workout more, I think you should be able to 'use your core' as they say in the dvds. Try to focus on your stomach and lower abdomen as you're working out for now and eventually I think you'll gain control of it.

My longer runs cause my body to shift to my core as my legs get tired so my core is pretty strong and I can focus on using it more in the workouts. But it takes time.

The jumping gets me too. I did the Pure Cardio one last night and while I love it, it was tough as usual!

Don't look at the scale anymore than you have to. Gage your succcess based on how your clothes are fitting/feeling. The scale, IMO, is not a women's friend. We have too many things going on in our bodies. If you are dieting and working out like you should, you'll see it pay off!

Great job and good luck!

"You can freaking do it!" Isn't that one of Shawn T's phrases? "Come on ya'll!!!" "Dig deep!"

IMO, if you want to quickly strengthen your core, doing planks is one of the easiest things to do. You see rapid progress at the beginning, so that helps you to keep doing them, too.

I've noticed that with my core stronger, my balance is better, and I'm not nearly as clutzy as I used to be.

Lynn -- great advice about the scale!

Ehh it happens. Get back into it tonight and kick butt!!

Ava and Wil do mine with me. So we had to change the name of 'butt kicks' to B kicks or bottom kicks. The kids love to laugh when he says the other.

I have learned that some days I have bad runs or am overdone and skip altogether, and when I get back on the wagon it is not hard at all. You have to give yourself a break sometimes but don't give up! And, the fitter you get, the more those PMS problems will probably get better too. Or, you won't feel so bad about the extra helping of ice cream when you have it.

I keep hearing about this workout so I will have to check it out.
I have been getting lots of hours at work so it is so hard to get workouts in. Going to work out tonight while the boys do their Jujitsu and then tommorow since they are off school and I am off work.
Feel like I am losing all I have gained the last couple weeks. UGH
