    Weekly Goals
    mrswhitecastle posted:
    Gosh it's quiet in here!

    My goals:

    1. Laundry & ironing (DH and I were gone all last week, so I have tons of it.)
    2. Get out Winter clothes (Yes, I keep putting this on my list, but it's hard when it's supposed to be in the 80s the next couple of days.)
    3. Rake and clean up outside.
    4. Do something fun with the girls on Friday since they have no school.

And, since it's so quiet, I'll mention another goal I'm preparing for. I'm trying to do a lot more things homemade. My first goal is to go a full week eating nothing that has been already processed -- bread, yogurt, noodles, ketchup, etc. I want to start with a short goal, like a week, to see what I really can't cut out.

What are your goal(s) this week?

I am doing something similar here, with more homemade stuff, mostly to increase nutritional content and decrease our sodium intake. I have been living out of my crockpot these days and a cookbook full of vegetarian recipes so we are getting tons of veggies, but the vegetable stock I buy commercially is loaded with sodium, so I tried making my own vegetable stock the other night. It came out really well, but it was hard to spend 10 hours preparing something and then put it in the fridge and not use it immediately!

Do you make your own noodles? Is it hard? I'd love to hear how it is going with your week of homemade food, please keep us posted!

Oh, and looks like a bomb went off in my house so I'm going to try to get a handle on the cleaning and clutter. THe clutter is never-ending though. I also need to get out winter clothes and call my mom. That's as ambitious as I can get right now.

    1. catch up on cleaning. we ran all last week & it is very messy.
    2. fix dinner in all week long. as I said we were on the run all last week so we ate out most of the week.
    3. get the kids to bed at 8 instead of 8:30 or 9

Great post! You made me focus (not easy these days it seems)

    1. Stay on top of the laundry. Everything is folded and put away and I'm trying to avoid the Friday Mt. St. Laundry pile.

    2. Be present. Need to stay off the smart phone and let work/personal email/Facebook wait till the kids go to bed. The whole after school madness goes better when I'm engaged with the kids (phone/computer/social media are much more fun than parenting at times, amiright?)

    3. After I read this study, Workout routine may not be enough to keep you healthy if you sit for many hours a day , I made a promise to myself to get up once an hour during my 8 hour work day and move around. Easier said than done!!!!!
