I know we are just off the heals of Halloween but I have already begun planning. I want this to be an extra special holiday season give everything that has happened this year. Plus, I also fear this will be the last year of deep believing. Anyone else starting to gear up?

I think of all families, you're certainly one that deserves an extra special holiday this year.

I started working on some Christmas plans last week and felt pretty good about getting going. I ordered some of the more expensive gifts for the kids a while back (just before Amazon started charging sales tax) and now have them wrapped and stored in the basement. The kids have their lists going and have already asked if we can put the tree up right after Thanksgiving. My oldest is 10 now and still a solid believer (knock on wood) so we will go all out again and allow her another year of childhood Chriatmas memories with the Shelf Elf, Santa letters and a visit to Santa with the little ones.

Levi definitely deserves it. Weren't you guys not at home last year with someone who was very sick?

We already got the BIG gift for Christmas and I have been picking up small stuff along the way.

A good friend of mine brought over books, toys, electronic equipment and stuffed animals that her 11 year old has outgrown. Everything is in great shape and some pricy stuff.

I put it all in my closet and will use some of it for holiday gifts.

That's as far as I've gone. I also took a week off in December when my girls are on winter break so I've been planning some museum outings and get togethers.

I have to say, when I saw the work "Christmas" I thought - TOO EARLY! But, looking at the's coming fast!

I think this is the last year "Elf on the Shelf" will work. DD2 will be 8 the day after Christmas...

I do love this time of year and you guys deserve an extra special season.
I am thinking of buying another inexpensive laptop for the boys. There are a lot of school programs they do online and I think it would be a nice thing to have an extra one around here. I have an old one they try and use but it is not very good.
Tre wanted a football but my Mom bought it while he was here. (He carries it everywhere ..very cute) I was going to get pj's and my Mom again noticed they needed new ones. I teased her that she is taking all my Christmas ideas!
Henry loves Goosebumps books so I am going to get a set of those (unless my mom does haha! ) . Tre loves bugs/science books.
Anyway I will figure it all out !

I was listening to Chrismas music as I was taking down Halloween decorations this weekend. I'd start decorating today if I could but I don't want it to loose it's fun by the time Christmas gets here. I'm getting excited about putting the tree in a different location this year. LOL! It's the little things that get me excited. I try to mix things up with the decorations and just thinking of new ideas is fun.

I get what your saying about this being the last year but I hope not. A lot of kids in the neighborhood and on the school bus have been saying there is no Santa and Ryder has asked me a few times and I just tell him it's not true that Santa does exist.
