Irritated with retail - vent

OK, I posted that we are re-decorating DD's room, and she told me she really wanted one of those mesh canopies that hand over the bed. I've seen them at her friend's houses and they are really cute, so I picked one up at a local (national) retail store. It was the last one they had and clearly had been returned and just stuffed back into the package and scotch-taped back together. So I asked the clerk if it was returnable because I found its condition questionable, and I got a little lecture about how they carefully inspect everything before putting it back on the shelf...blah blah blah. So if course I get it home and part of it is missing. I knew I should have made her open it and take a look. Now I have to drag myself back there...makes me so mad. I hate shopping.

Oh man! That is so annoying!! And unfortunately at stores like that, putting up a stink won't get you anywhere. However, the room sounds like it is going to be gorgeous when it is done.

So very annoying, especially since you called them out on it while you were in the store!
