Vent - dinner
miob posted:
Ok, I'm feeling the need to vent, too. DS, DH and I went out for our usual Friday dinner out at our usual restaurant. We got there and were seated at a table - next to a family of 5 with two kids who looked to be under the age of two who proceeded to scream their head off for the remainder of their dinner. They left about 10 minutes after we got there. According to the waitress, the kids screamed non- stop since they got there and the parents ignored it for over a half hour.

Now, we've take DS to restaurants on Friday night since he was about 6 months old. He's restaurant-trained and very well behaved. But when he was little, I can remember him having one fussy night. After a few minutes of trying to calm him and being unable to do so, one of us left with DS while the other had dinner packed up to go. We didn't want to ruin the evening out for anyone else trying to enjoy their dinner....why are some people clueless about this etiquette?

That is so annoying, for people with and without kids. I'm glad you did not have to put up with it too long.
