    OT: *Trigs* Our old kitty
    seeit2 posted:
Well, she would have been 20 years old this Fall - but we put our kitty Whiteface to sleep yesterday afternoon. DD went with DH to the vet to put her down, which was her choice. I think in the end it was good for her to see the whole process instead of having kitty leave the house and just never come back.

I went through the whole shpeil with her beforehand about not letting kitty suffer and being humane etc etc. When I was done Lily looked at me and said, "So we are going to kill her." Yup, couldn't really argue there. DH got that cat when he was 22! She had a good run.

I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost 2 kitties in the past 3 years and it doesn't get any easier. I still miss my kitty that passed in 2006.

I told DD that Spencer went to kitty heaven and is playing with the other kitties. My parents told her their dog went to doggie heaven when they had to have her put down. DS has never asked.

WOW! 22 years, that's amazing, I've never heard of a pet that old before. It's so hard putting a pet to sleep.

We had to put our cat Katie(who was 13) to sleep when Ryder was 3 and he still talks about her and includes her as one of his siblings. He was very emotional about it for a long time. I know when it's Jakes time both kids will be devasted.

However, when Ryleigh is upset with Jake for some reason she tells me she wants to get rid of Jake and get a puppy. LOL!

Sorry for you loss. It is hard to lose a pet. She definitely had a good run. Our two old girls, litter mates, will be 19 in July. One is on several meds but still spry albeit deaf and a bit senile. Her sister just plods along.
