No more alternating meds?
mrswhitecastle posted:
I spoke with our on-call nurse this morning, and she said they no longer advise alternating Motrin and Tylenol. Has anyone else heard this?

We struggled all night to keep Emily's temp below 105. If I wouldn't have alternated meds, we would have been in the ER for sure at 3AM.

Really?! My sister works for a pedi, I am going to ask her later and let you know what she says.

I hope Emily is feeling better

Oh no! I hope she's feeling better now, poor thing. I had not heard that either - Crunk, let us know what you find out please!

mrswhitecastle responded:
I spoke with the pedi about it, and he is fine with alternating. He said make sure that she is comfortable. Phew!

Emily probably has pneumonia. He prescribed antibiotics, which will hopefully work quickly. Her fever did finally break in the night, thank goodness.

iocasta replied to mrswhitecastle's response:
Oh dear. Hope she feels better soon. I thought it was strange about alternating but I have had much experience with it either, thankfully.
crunk05177 replied to iocasta's response:
Ok, the pedi my sister works for said she hasn't heard that and she is fine with recommending it to her parents. I have done it quite a few times and we never had a problem?
