Crazy weather
baby1at35 posted:
Tuesday night we had a hail storm. Golf ball size hail. I do have some damage to my house. Not as bad as expected. I gathered the hail stones after it was done and they are in the freezer. Huge! The boys were scared as they hit the house. I had them come down to the middle of the house no widows. Yikes!
Today we wake up to some snow. Good Gracious what a spring this is!
I cannot wait until it warms up for my gardens ect. Apparently the plant after Mother's Day theme will hold strong.
My brother is dealing with a huge ice storm and they had 8 inches of snow last night. He has no electricity so I shouldn't complain but....

Bring on spring!

Springtime in the Midwest, you have to love it. We had hail yesterday morning, just pea size. The golf ball size ones are scary. We are to get some snow tonight. Tomorrow's high will be 38. My gardens are slowly waking. We generally have daffodils blooming by now and starting to fade and crocuses are long gone. The crocuses have just bloomed and the daffodils are still a few days away. Oh yes, planting after Mother's Day always holds true around here. I might hold out until the end of May this year. I never plant my basil before mid June.

We had bad storms last evening, around bed time, of course. There were several tornados here in and around St. Louis, and many don't have power. Our power just flickered, and we have no damage, thank goodness.

You might know this already but if you have damage on your house due to hail, you can get your roof/siding/gutters,etc replaced for free and the insurance company can't increase your premium. We just had a roofing company check for damage on our house this week and they told us this.

We had some pretty strong winds/rain last night but luckily not as bad as you all had. Both of my girls slept through it.
iocasta replied to earleyml1012's response:
This is highly dependent on your carrier and type of coverage that you have. I would consult your carrier before trusting what a roofing guy tells you.
Stephensmom1214 replied to iocasta's response:
We've had our roof replaced, as well as had other repairs made twice due to hail, and our premium has never gone up. It probably is dependent on the carrier, but that's how it worked for us. We had $30K worth of damage both times. I hate hail storms. They give me anxiety.
