How was your weekend?

Hello all! How was your weekend?

DH and I got a ton of cleaning out done. I sent DDs over to the grandparents so we could work uninterrupted. We cleaned out 3 closets upstairs, the dumping ground for junk in our bedroom, the playroom, and all the drawers/cabinets in the dining room and living room. We were pitching stuff that both of us had before we were married 11+ years ago. It was time! I now just have 3 BIG boxes of photos I need to go through and organize. I just keep going upstairs and opening the closets to look at them.

Our weekend did end on a sad note. We went to a funeral yesterday for a friend who had been battling cancer for a long time. She was only 46 and had a 13 year old daughter. The girls were hugged extra tight before bed last night.

How did your weekend go?

Ours was uneventful. DH left for Frankfurt and London on Saturday. He'll be back on this Saturday. The day before Levi's birthday. I mostly did our usual weekend chores and did some extra rowing because it is difficult to get my daily rows in when it is just me and the boy during the work week.

Busy weekend - I got some new living room furniture delivered and had no time to enjoy it! Saturday we went to Boston to drop my sister and nephew off at the Bruins game and then did some shopping around Quincy Market. Sunday we headed to Connecticut for my niece's 4th birthday party. I'm ready for a weekend where we can relax and maybe be as productive around the house as you were! But I don't know when that will happen.

We got some closets/dressers cleaned out at our house this weekend as well. We had college friends staying with us Saturday night, so I decided to clean in the morning. While doing that, I had DH going through closets/dressers finding things we no longer wanted/needed/out-grew to donate. I also dropped off a huge trash bag of toddler clothes/shoes to a friend at church. I couldn't get over how much stuff we got out of our house!

Saturday afternoon we met our friends at our college and watch a Jazz Singers concert. Surprisingly our 18 month old made it through about 25 minutes of the 45 minute concert and our 4 yr old made it through the entire thing. That evening our friends plus my husband went to a dance concert at our college, while I stayed home to put the girls to bed. Yep, it's the season for concerts and as alumni we like to go support the students since we were in many of the same groups or knew people in these groups.

Sunday afternoon, I took DD#1 to the dance concert and she LOVED it. Just waiting for the day for her to ask us to start dance classes. During intermission, she became "friends" with the 3 yr old sitting next to us and they were dancing around the floor. It was so cute! DH brought DD#2 for the second half and she loved it too. He sat off to the side in case she was a distraction and he said she was dancing around too. So cute!

Oh, exciting! We got our first riding lawn mower this weekend. Can't wait for DH to be able to cut the lawn in half the time now! We don't have a HUGE yard but it use to take him an hour and half to do the entire thing and I didn't like helping b/c the push mower was so heavy. He's excited to use it!

As always it went by way to fast. We had Ryders baseball jamboree on Saturday and then he had a game at 12 and a bday party at 3pm. They took Ryder and the bday boy to the local Spring Fair and they went on rides, played games and then went to the demolition derby and saw fireworks. He had a fantastic time to say the least. The bday boy chose to do this instead of having a party and he choose Ryder as his friend to take with him. These two are becoming best buds. He is a neighbor so they are always at one of our houses playing.

Sunday DH had to replace his drivers seat in the truck it's been broken forever and we've had to keep putting stuff behind the seat to hold it up. It's so uncomfortable to drive like that.

Other than that I was just doing normal cleaning/chores/laundry.

A nice laid back weekend here. I organized the kitchen pantry and cleaned out the fridge. Feels so nice! I did my closet last weekend and need to get to the boy's closet.
Saturday we had swimming lessons , went out to eat and then to mass.
Sunday I did some more cleaning /organizing and we then went to the movie Oz. Really pretty good movie. A couple scary parts but for the most part ok.
Now it is Monday and raining again with snow tonight. really? spring? After this round it looks like it will finally warm up and be spring. Can't wait to plant my gardens!
