    Almost Killed Husband

I almost killed my husband yesterday and I'm pretty sure it would have been justified. He had a meeting out-of-town yesterday morning but was supposed to be home in time to me DS' bus at 1p. Well, I get a phone call at 1:45p from transportation telling me no one is coming out to meet the bus. I tried calling DH's cell but no answer. I called my parents and no answer. Called my mom's cell and no answer. Called daycare and she said she could meet the bus but it might be a bit because she had to load all the kids in the car. Called my dad's cell and he answered and said they'd go meet the bus. Called daycare back and told her never mind which was good since she had realized her husband had the SUV.
DH called later and said his meeting had been rescheduled from 9a to 11:30a and he'd forgotten all about DS' bus. How do you forget your own son? He said he didn't remember until he got home and noticed I'd left a message on his phone. Then he didn't want to drive and pick up DS because he's been driving all day. It was his fault DS was at grandma's. Luckily, I didn't have to press that point because my mom dropped DS off later.

This is a constant worry of mine any time someone else is supposed to pick DS up. And even though my dad teases me whenever I call 30 minutes before pickup to remind him and 10 minutes after to be sure he's done it, I'm not going to stop. I do the same thing with DH and he's taken it well - usually it's a quick 'Have you got the package?' from me followed by a 'yes, he's all set' from him.

I would be furious if he ever actually forgot (so, yep, I'm on your side). I always worry because for me, it's a usual part of my daily routine, so there's really no possibility of me forgetting. Since it's not for DH or my dad (the most common backups for me), I hound them.

Yup. Totally would have been justified.
