BRCA1 and BRCA2: Cancer Risk and Genetic Testing

When I went for my yearly exam, my OB suggested that I look into BRCA1 and BRCA2: Cancer Risk and Genetic Testing because my aunt and grandmother both had some form of female cancer. Anyway, has anyone done this? Since my mom isn't 100% sure what kind of cancer they had and both are no longer living, is it worth doing the test? I deal with anxiety issues, so not sure if this will help or make my anxiety over cancer worse.
