DD is the big 4 now!
laney0705 posted:
Took DD for her well child visit and she is 50% in height and 30% in weight. She weighs 33 pounds. The dr. said as long she is eating healthy and growing she is fine. It's such a hassle to get her to eat. It's a nightly battle with dinner. She takes a couple bites and says "I'm done". We can usually get her to eat most of it after a negotiating process. It's so frustrating. She is the snack queen. All she wants to do is eat snacks all day.

Her speech has improved dramatically over the past year. It's just amazing to see her progress.

She is growing into such a little lady.

It's amazing how quickly they grow, isn't it? Yay for great check ups. We fight the same meal time battles with DS. He's up to a whopping 34 pounds but my pedi tells me he's growing along his schedule (he's in the 5th percentile for weight and 30th for height). He's a snacker, too. As long as he's snacking healthy, I usually let it go.

Happy Birthday!!!

I have a snacker too. Why not given her dinner as a snack? Such as the veggie, fruit, pasta whatever as her snack? I also put their plates in the fridge after dinner so of they say they are hungry then they can snack on that. I decided long ago that food wasn't something I want to battle so as long as they are healthy snacks I don't care.

Happy birthday DD!I forgot how close in age our LOs are. She sounds like a healthy little peanut! DS is just as sketchy when it comes to eating. I finally got fed up and started taking his plate when he got up from the table. In his case, I think he would rather run around than eat - he's not really picky, he just can't sit still. losing his food was an eye-opener for him, but I hate being mean like that.

The idea about turning dinner into snacks is a really good one - I'm gonna try that too.

Happy Birthday! I swear, my DD is so busy talking that she just doesn't want to stop to eat so we're constantly negotiating with her to eat more dinner too.
