Are you keeping your meds away from the kids?

I'd like to think that my 3 and 6 year olds would NOT pop something in their mouths!

However, 60,000+ kids in the U.S. go to the ER for accidental overdoses because they got into medicines when a parent or caregiver wasn't looking. Click the link above to read more about a new program to keep meds "Up & Away".

Interesting to note that risks may increase during the holidays when visitors leave coats, purses, or suitcases with meds laying around.

Elizabeth STILL puts all kinds of things in her mouth. I think this is a good reminder, especially when it comes to meds being in purses or bags.

I've carried an EpiPen in my purse since Emily was 3 and Elizabeth was 1. I didn't want them accidentally getting to the shot, so they have always had serious consequences if they were seen playing with/in someone's purse or bag.

My husband must reminded me that one of our friends has medication that is in a patch form.

I can just imagine my 3 year old going to town and sticking those all over herself!
