    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Speech therapy screening

Hi all. Moving up from the 6-9 boards, if there is anyone here who posts regularly.

I had a social worker form the county come by yesterday to screen DS for a speech evaluation. He does not make any speech sounds at all, just a few grunts, otherwise he is a really quiet little guy. (We joke that my DD does not let him get a word in edgewise LOL). My DD, who is 4, has an expressive delay so this is not a huge shock to us.

Anyway, DS qualifies to go forward with a full evaluation. (In this state, they screen first - the last state I lived in just sent someone out to do a full eval). I could not answer "yes" to even one of her screening questions so there was no question he needs to be evaluated. We go in two weeks to get the full eval. Hopefully we can get the little guy some help nice and early and get him up to speed quickly.

Hey Deb- I had no idea they did speech evals this early. It's a good plan to start as early as possible though. Hope it goes well, keep us posted.
